AILET – All India Law Entrance Test
AILET is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Law University (NLU), Delhi, for admission to its undergraduate (BA LLB) and postgraduate (LLM) law programs. It is a highly competitive exam for students aiming to pursue a law degree at one of India's top law universities.
Eligibility Criteria
- Undergraduate Program (BA LLB):
- Must have passed or be appearing for Class 12 or equivalent with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).
- Candidates must be under the age of 20 years (22 years for SC/ST candidates) at the time of admission.
- Postgraduate Program (LLM):
- Must have a 3-year LLB degree or a 5-year integrated LLB degree from a recognized university.
- Minimum aggregate of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) in the qualifying exam.
Application Process
- Registration: Visit the official AILET website (https://www.nludelhi.ac.in) to create an account for registration.
- Form Submission: Fill out the online application form with personal, academic, and contact details.
- Upload Documents: Upload a passport-size photograph, signature, and other required documents.
- Fee Payment: Pay the application fee online using debit/credit cards, net banking, or other available payment methods.
- Admit Card: Download the admit card once available.
Exam Pattern
- Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT).
- Sections:
- English Language (35 questions).
- General Knowledge and Current Affairs (35 questions).
- Legal Aptitude (35 questions).
- Logical Reasoning (35 questions).
- Quantitative Aptitude (10 questions).
- Total Questions: 150.
- Marking Scheme: +1 for correct answers, -0.25 for incorrect answers.
- Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.
Syllabus
- The AILET syllabus tests candidates' skills in the following areas:
- English Language: Vocabulary, reading comprehension, and grammar.
- General Knowledge & Current Affairs: General awareness, national and international events, and legal updates.
- Legal Aptitude: Legal reasoning, principles, and logical application of law.
- Logical Reasoning: Puzzles, analogies, logical deductions.
- Quantitative Aptitude: Basic mathematics, data interpretation, and reasoning with numbers.
Admission Process
- Appear for the AILET exam and achieve a valid score.
- Participate in the centralized counseling process conducted by NLU Delhi.
- Seat allocation will be based on AILET rank, preferences, and seat availability.
- Complete admission by submitting documents and paying the fee.
