TS LAWCET/AP LAWCET – Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance Test

The TS LAWCET (Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test) and AP LAWCET (Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance Test) are state-level entrance exams conducted by the Osmania University, Hyderabad (for TS LAWCET) and the Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur (for AP LAWCET). These exams are conducted for admission to 5-year integrated LLB programs and 3-year LLB programs in various law colleges in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Age Limit:
    • For the 5-year integrated LLB program, candidates must be 17 years old as of the date of the admission year.
    • For the 3-year LLB program, candidates must have completed their graduation (or equivalent) and must be at least 21 years old at the time of admission.
  2. Educational Qualification:
    • For the 5-year integrated LLB program: Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST).
    • For the 3-year LLB program: Candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) from a recognized university.

Application Process

  1. Registration: Visit the official websites for TS LAWCET (https://lawcet.tsche.ac.in) or AP LAWCET (https://sche.ap.gov.in) to register for the exam.
  2. Form Submission: Fill in the application form online with personal, educational, and contact details.
  3. Fee Payment: The application fee can be paid through online methods like debit/credit cards, UPI, or net banking.
  4. Admit Card: Once the application is confirmed, candidates can download the admit card from the official website.

Exam Pattern

  • Mode: The exam is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper-based).
  • Sections:
    • For 5-year integrated LLB program:
      • General Knowledge and Mental Ability: 30 questions.
      • Current Affairs: 30 questions.
      • Legal Aptitude: 60 questions.
    • For 3-year LLB program:
      • General Knowledge and Mental Ability: 30 questions.
      • Current Affairs: 30 questions.
      • Legal Aptitude: 60 questions.
  • Total Marks: 120.
  • Duration: 90 minutes.
  • Marking Scheme:
    • +1 mark for each correct answer.
    • No negative marking for incorrect answers.

Syllabus

  • The syllabus for both TS LAWCET and AP LAWCET includes the following subjects:
    1. General Knowledge and Mental Ability: Current events, general knowledge, logical reasoning, and mental ability.
    2. Current Affairs: Recent events related to politics, economics, sports, and world affairs.
    3. Legal Aptitude: Legal principles, legal reasoning, and basic knowledge of law.

Admission Process

  1. Exam: Candidates must appear and qualify the LAWCET exam.
  2. Result: The results are published, and candidates are ranked according to their scores.
  3. Counseling: Based on their rank, candidates are invited to the counseling process for seat allotment.
  4. Final Admission: After counseling, candidates must complete the document verification and final seat allotment process to secure admission.
