VITEEE – Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam

VITEEE is a university-level entrance exam conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) for admission to its undergraduate engineering programs (B.Tech) across campuses in Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal, and Amaravati.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Educational Qualification:
    • Candidates must have passed or be appearing for Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (or Biology for certain courses).
    • Must secure a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST and certain other categories).
  2. Age Limit:
    • Candidates must be born on or after July 1, 2003.

Application Process

  1. Registration: Visit the official website (https://viteee.vit.ac.in) and register online.
  2. Form Submission: Provide personal, academic, and contact details.
  3. Upload Documents: Upload scanned images of photographs and signatures as per the specifications.
  4. Fee Payment: Pay the application fee online using credit/debit cards, net banking, or UPI.
  5. Slot Booking: Select preferred exam date and time.
  6. Admit Card: Download and print the admit card.

Exam Pattern

  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT).
  • Sections:
    • Physics (25 questions).
    • Chemistry (25 questions).
    • Mathematics/Biology (25 questions).
    • English (2 questions).
    • Aptitude (3 questions).
  • Total Questions: 80.
  • Marking Scheme: +1 for correct answers, no negative marking.
  • Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes.

Syllabus

  1. Physics: Laws of Motion, Current Electricity, Electromagnetic Induction, Optics, Modern Physics, and more.
  2. Chemistry: Atomic Structure, Thermodynamics, Coordination Compounds, Alcohols and Phenols, and Environmental Chemistry.
  3. Mathematics: Matrices, Trigonometry, Probability, Differential Calculus, and Integral Calculus.
  4. Biology (for specific courses): Human Physiology, Plant Physiology, Genetics, and Microbiology.
  5. English: Grammar, Vocabulary, and Reading Comprehension.
  6. Aptitude: Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, and Numerical Ability.

Admission Process

  1. Appear for VITEEE and obtain a valid rank.
  2. Participate in the VIT counseling process by filling out preferences.
  3. Seats are allocated based on VITEEE rank and chosen preferences.
  4. Complete the admission process by submitting the required documents and paying the fees.
