BITSAT – Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test

BITSAT is a university-level entrance exam conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) for admission to its integrated first-degree programs at BITS Pilani, BITS Goa, and BITS Hyderabad. The exam is highly competitive and focuses on engineering, sciences, and other programs.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification:
   • Must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.
   • Minimum aggregate of 75% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (or Biology for B.Pharm) and at least 60% in each subject.
2. Age Limit:
   • Candidates must have completed their Class 12 in the same year or the previous year.
3. Attempt Limit:
   • Only first-time applicants or those appearing for Class 12 again are eligible.

Application Process

1. Registration: Visit the official website (https://bitsadmission.com) and register online.
2. Form Submission: Fill out the application form with personal and academic details.
3. Upload Documents: Upload scanned images of passport-size photographs and signatures.
4. Fee Payment: Pay the application fee online via debit/credit card or net banking.
5. Slot Booking: Choose the preferred exam date and time during the slot booking process.
6. Admit Card: Download and print the admit card.

Exam Pattern

• Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT).
• Sections:
  • Physics (30 questions).
  • Chemistry (30 questions).
  • Mathematics/Biology (40 questions).
  • English Proficiency (10 questions).
  • Logical Reasoning (20 questions).
• Total Questions: 130.
• Marking Scheme: +3 for correct answers, -1 for incorrect answers.
• Duration: 3 hours.

1. Physics: Units and Measurement, Newton’s Laws, Work and Energy, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism, and more.
2. Chemistry: States of Matter, Atomic Structure, Chemical Kinetics, Hydrocarbons, and Coordination Compounds.
3. Mathematics: Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Vectors, and Statistics.
4. English and Logical Reasoning: Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-verbal Reasoning.

Admission Process

1. Appear for BITSAT and secure a qualifying score.
2. Apply for the counseling process by filling out program preferences and uploading Class 12 marks.
3. Seat allocation is based on BITSAT score and preferences.
4. Complete the admission process at the allotted campus.
